Bay Forest Canopy

This small scale project was for long-term client Homes for America, at a building here in our Annapolis backyard. The property consists of two mid-rise buildings totaling 60 units and over 37,000 sf; Studio 343 was brought in to address the connection between the two buildings, where the outside prefabricated aluminum and fabric breezeway cover was failing. Studio 343 designed a new permanent structure with a metal roof, navigating the limited area available to provide an accessible path for residents to traverse the space and be protected from weather. The new breezeway complements the existing building style while the unique roof assembly design meets building code requirements for combustible construction of a pedestrian breezeway.
